How Donations Help HKSS

The Heart of the Kids Social Services is a small Christian-based non-profit organization. Because of our size, every dollar given to HKSS really counts. ALL proceeds from donations will go directly to supporting the children in our care by providing increased in-home support services, education and resources for foster families and children. Your decision to support children in foster care by way of donations is a decision that will change their lives for the better - and yours, too. Hearts of the Kids is a terrific organization. My wife and I wanted to help children as foster parents and we searched the Web and found Hearts of the Kids. The reviews we saw had them with 4 stars, the highest of any organization in our area. We are new to Fostering. Hearts of the Kids helped us obtain our state license by providing training and guidance on what to expect. The experience and knowledge this staff has is incredible.

Everything we read and heard said it would take between 6 to 9 months, from start to finish to become a foster parent. With Hearts of the Kids, we got our state license in a little over 3 1/2 months. The day we got our license we received a call asking if we would like to care for a sibling group of two. The need is there for foster parents because there are so many kids who need good living conditions and love. If you have any desire whatsoever to be a foster parent, Hearts of the Kids should be your ONLY call to make. They hold your hand the entire way, making the process simple, easy and quick. If you want to help children in need, use Hearts of the Kids and you will be happy that you did.

Heart of the Kids Social Services has made exceptional strides to be a resourceful agency. The agency assists their foster homes by being available via phone all times of the day and night. As a foster parent, I am able to contact every staff member anytime of the day, and if they are unavailable, the staff member will return my call in a decent time frame. The agency provides respite assistance to foster families. Upon contacting them for respite assistance, the agency works diligently to locate an available home willing to care for children on a short-term basis.

Bi-weekly payments to foster families is timely made every pay period and if there is ever a concern, the accounting department does not hesitate to remedy the situation. The staff is professional and knowledgeable and what they don’t know they research and get back with an answer. I have fostered with Heart of the Kids Social Services for almost five years and I cannot be happier to be with them. They are not perfect by far, which is good because if they were perfect there would be no room for improvement and everything has to be improved in order to be and remain successful. I would recommend Heart of the Kids Social Services as a child placement agency.
